Admission to Practice - CM/ECF Registration

Pursuant to Local Rule 83-5, all parties must be represented of record by a member of the bar of this court. Any attorney admitted to practice by the Supreme Court of the United States or the highest court of any state may become a member of the bar of this court upon motion by a member of the bar of this court. In addition, the CM/ECF Civil and Criminal User Manual requires that all documents submitted for filing by attorneys shall be filed electronically and that only attorneys admitted to practice and currently in good standing shall be entitled to a CM/ECF system password.

The admission process is completed by submitting an electronic application and paying the prescribed fee of $191 for full admission or $96 for Pro Hac Vice. This process will also serve as your application for CM/ECF registration. Once your application is approved, you will be e-mailed confirmation and credentials to log into the CM/ECF system.

If you applied for full admission a certificate of admission will be mailed once your application has been approved. Once your application has been approved, your admission to practice in the Northern District of Indiana is permanent.  Both full and pro hac vice applicants can check their admission status by logging back into the admission system
