Change of Plea
Judge Miller generally conducts change of plea hearings, but may, if necessary, refer a change of plea to the magistrate judge with the consent of the parties. Counsel should call chambers ((574) 246-8080) when a plea agreement is reached to schedule a hearing date. If there are special circumstances (e.g., the defendant requires an interpreter or is unable to read), the courtroom deputy should be advised as soon as possible. A sentencing date will be scheduled at the change of plea hearing. |
