This includes motions to continue criminal trials. Thus, the motion and form order should go to the Magistrate Judge. -The major exception to this rule is that motions to continue sentencings and suppression hearings go before the District Judge, so the motion and form order should be sent to the District Judge. -If requesting a continuance, please specify what time period is need in the motion (e.g. 30 days, 60 days, etc.).
