Counsel should refer to Local Rule 16.1 for a list of cases exempted from the Rule 16(b) conference. Before the conference, the parties will receive a Notice of Preliminary Pretrial Conference. During the conference, deadlines will be set for discovery and filing of dispositive motions. The trial and final pretrial conference dates will be set on Judge Springmann's calendar during the Preliminary Pretrial Conference. In cases in which parties and counsel choose not to consent to a magistrate, they should be aware that Judge Springmann will conduct all trials and live hearings in the home/originating Division in which the civil case was filed.
