SOUTH BEND, Indiana (August 3, 2023): On January 28, 2022, the Judges of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Indiana resolved to honor the life, career, and legacy of the Honorable Robert Lowell Miller, Jr. by naming the courtroom in which he presides in his honor. In recognition of Judge Miller’s remarkable service to his community, the State of Indiana, and the United States of America, the third-floor courtroom of the Robert A. Grant Federal Courthouse at 204 South Main Street, South Bend, Indiana, in dedication to him is named, The Robert Lowell Miller, Jr. Courtroom. An event celebrating the naming of the courtroom will be held in Judge Miller’s courtroom at 1:00 p.m. EDT on August 4, 2023, at which time the Resolution will be formally presented to Judge Miller. The court will take this opportunity to further honor Judge Miller for his extensive record of service to the Judiciary, as he will be retiring at the end of August.
