Non-dispositive motions and the related forms of order should be directed to the Magistrate Judge assigned to the case. All other motions (i.e., motions in limine, motions to suppress, and motions to continue the trial, or sentencing) should be directed to the District Court Judge.
The Magistrate Judge usually enters the District Court Judge's standard criminal discovery order at the time of the arraignment. If counsel wish to raise a discovery request not covered by the standard order, counsel should indicate why the standard order is inadequate in the particular case.
