The court conducts final instruction conferences on the record, immediately after or reasonably near the close of all the evidence. The court will tender a proposed set of final instructions based on the instructions the parties tendered. The court will also offer a courtesy redline copy showing any modifications from the model jury instructions.
Unless asked to do things differently, the court will read all instructions except those about deliberations before the final arguments.
Each juror will receive a set of the final instructions to follow during their reading and to take to the jury room during deliberations.
