Judge Moody: Informal Exchange of Discovery

Since December 1, 2000, the voluntary disclosure provisions of revised Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 26(a)(1) have applied nationwide, except in specified types of cases. District Courts are no longer permitted to "opt out" of this rule. The court has therefore included reference to Rule 26(a)(1) disclosures in its Order Setting Initial Status Hearing that will be sent to counsel after filing of a complaint.
