Externs work in Judge Van Bokkelen’s Chambers in a variety of legal and administrative roles. They assist the law clerks by reviewing motions, summarizing law, and drafting orders. Externs also help prepare the judge for hearings, case conferences, and trials. Externs are given opportunities to observe legal proceedings and participate in legal deliberations. Occasionally, Externs perform administrative duties and assist in other matters important to the Court.

Externs are not paid for their services.

The Court has several externs working in its chambers every semester and every summer. To apply, please email to Judge Van Bokkelen's Chambers as PDF documents:
