Judge Van Bokkelen: Motions and Briefs

The briefing schedule and page limits for motions are set forth in Local Rule 7-1.

In the wake of electronic filing, paper copies of motions and briefs for chambers ordinarily are unnecessary. However, if a document is not filed electronically, an extra copy should be submitted, unless the document is filed under seal. Moreover, if the materials accompanying an electronically filed party's brief consist of more than 25 exhibits or 400 pages, that party must submit complimentary paper copies of that brief and exhibits directly to the Court.

Parties should send proposed orders on routine motions to the chambers of the judge who will be ruling on the motion. Proposed orders for Judge Van Bokkelen should be sent to Judge Van Bokkelen's Chambers.

All proposed orders should be in WordPerfect or Word format.

Judge Van Bokkelen does not hold motions days or motion calls. Oral arguments will be set if deemed helpful.
