The Magistrate Judge assigned to the case will conduct the preliminary pretrial conference pursuant to Rule 16(b). Counsel should refer to Local Rule 16-1 for a list of cases exempted from the Rule 16(b) conference.
Before the conference, the parties will receive a Notice of Preliminary Pretrial Conference.
During the conference, deadlines will be set for discovery and amendment of pleadings. Upon completion of discovery, the magistrate will enter a notice of brightline, withdrawing referral. Judge Theresa Lazar Springmann with then schedule a telephone conference to set dispositive motion and briefing deadlines, and the trial and final pretrial conference dates.
Judge Theresa Lazar Springmann will work with counsel to determine in which division to conduct trials and live hearings.
