Free Attorney Training and CLE Opportunity: Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence Satellite Attorney Recruitment and Training Program

The United States District Court for the Northern District of Indiana has rescheduled its sponsored training session for attorneys on modest means/pro bono representation of victims of domestic violence in Indiana. This training will now take place on Tuesday, September 24, 2019, from 10:30 a.m. to noon (C.S.T.) in the Jury Assembly Room (Room 2500), located on the main floor of the Hammond Federal Building, 5400 Federal Plaza, Hammond, IN 46320.

The goal of the training program is to increase attorney awareness and participation in the Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence’s (ICADV) Satellite Attorney Program, which provides representation to victims of domestic violence. Attorneys will gain the knowledge needed to provide civil legal assistance to survivors of domestic violence for a modest means hourly rate. The training will be provided by ICADV’s legal counsel, Kerry Hyatt Bennett, JD. Opening remarks will be given by Chief Judge Theresa L. Springmann.

Attendance for this event is limited to practicing attorneys in the State of Indiana. There is no cost to attend and 1.5 hours of Continuing Legal Education credit have been approved. Refreshments will be provided.

Registration is required for this event and space is limited. Please RSVP by Wednesday, September 18, 2019, to reply@innd.uscourts.gov. For more information, contact Rob Kinsella at rob_kinsella@innd.uscourts.gov.
